Dynastar Little Big Fat ???

Thread Starter
One of our local ski shops is going out of business and has a pair of Dynastar little big fats with Look pivot jibs that they are willing to cut a deal on.

I was surfing the Dynastar web site but could find no information, so apparently this is last year's ski which has been discontinued.

The shop tells me the ski was Dynastar's all-mountain free ride answer to the Pocket Rocket, and the flex pattern seems similar to the PR. I'm interested in these for powder and off piste with maybe an occasional foray into the bumps.

Anybody have any experience positive or negative here?

My girlfriend rented these when we skied Chamonix last year. She is an ex NCAA ski racer and really enjoyed the ski. Great off piste performance and she enjoyed it on the groomers too. She liked the ski so much that we bought a pair from Evogear.com this season and mounted Fritschi bindings on them.

Here is one review:

I've heard some really great things about the LBFs but for some reason they never really sold well and were discontinued. I demoed a pair this season and they definitely perform well as an all mountain ski with a preference for powder. They feel a "little big" even compared to other skis of the same size since they are so fat so you might want to go a size down. The jib binding may also not be the best binding since they can be a little hard to turn in tight spots due to their width. You can get some great deals on them since there are lots of left overs from last year.

I had a pair for a season, I found the waist was too much for so little sidecut & smallish tail. The ski did well in the soft stuff , but was below par on eastern firm.

Yeah, and my running shoes didn't work very well on the skating rink either.:

You can get the LBF brand new with a Look P10 binding on EBay for $350.
