Hi, I'm a 6'3" 210 advanced intermediate skiing mostly on elan s10 176 (thanks dawg) looking for new boots. I ski about 20 times a year, but that could increase tremendously (might be moving west for college, still in high school), and I'd like a boot that I can improve with. I currently have salomon performa 5.0's which are far too flexable and packed out badly. In my local area, Lansing, MI, there are no real ski shops with anyone who fits boots. There is a ski shop that has boots, but the employees aren't at all knowledgable. I'm heading to Breckenridge for MLK weekend and I'm wondering whether I should visit a bootfitter. If so, should I be prepared to spend the day in the shop instead of on the slopes (gasp)? Is it truely worth the visit for a skier of my level to visit a bootfitter? Any answers or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
