This season is the absolute worse I have ever experienced! From judging by the web cam pics, I don't see how anyone can ski! I look for them to shut down temporarily this week and open if and when we get colder weather. This absolutely sucks!!

It's truly been terrible out here in SW PA. Not only have the temperatures been insane, but it's been drizzling/raining non-stop since the day before New Years. What a contrast from ten days ago, when 7 was 100 percent open with a nice base, and I was skiing powder on Gunnar. The HKDs were blasting that day, in preparation for the warm spell; but I don't think anyone foresaw how severe this warm spell would actually be.

I have no doubt that 7 springs will make every attempt to recover from this when conditions permit; it's just a matter of WHEN and IF... It seems Snowshoe has faired a little better, though, having received less rain than SW PA.

These would be great pictures... for october.

Just got my 5th day in at Shawnee Mt. in NE PA. Conditions were pretty darn good given the warm temps and it's snowing hard as I type!! I think winter is coming back.

I'm heading down to Snowshoe tommorow for the weekend on a school trip. Anyone in that area? I'm hoping with the cold night temps forecasted for the weekend they may be able to blow enough to at least cover.

I am toying w/ the idea of checking out Snowshoe this weekend as well. Haven't entirely made up my mind - but so far it's looking probable.

Holy cow, those pics are grim!!!

I didn't realise that things were that grim out east!.

Hopefully things turn around soon

Snowmaking tonight will prolly get some of the closed terrain back open for this weekend.

7S can blow snow like no body's buisness. a couple cold nights and thos brown sports will be white again.

This looks grim for my Martin Luther King day weekend trip from the 14th to the 18th to 7 Springs, hopefully it will dip under freezing by then and I might get some half decent skiing under some snow from the guns.

Unfortunately there was little or no snow made at the Springs last night. The temps did not dip till almost 4 in the morning and the humidity was almost 100%.

Next weekend is looking grim if they are even open at all. The forecast does not show any cold until next Friday at the earliest. It will be close to 60 in town this week.

Never fear. As soon as you take the clubs out you will get dumped on. I suggest you wash the car, lower the top on the convertible and taunt the snow gods!

My poor friend...bought new skis and his season pass at 7Spr. We were talking it up in November, and now his mood swings from anger to being depressed.

It's been ugly, but at least it is only early January...there is still some hope. Today's storm should help out.
Wow. Sucks nowhere near that hard here. Closing in on 10 inches for the past two days.
Yep, we got DUMPED on! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

It may have dumped on the east but until the underlying ice can drain off and have some snow bond to it the woods are lousy. We need some warm weather without precipitation and a gradual cooling with snow. I closed last season hiking to ski Beaver Pond at Jay, need a woods fix real bad.
