Congrats Lisa and Mark!

I know that the two of you will have a wonderful future out in Colorado.
BTW, we all are hoping that the 1st few lines of the song don't apply:

Clouds so swift
Rain won’t lift
Gate won’t close
Railings froze
Get your mind off wintertime

...and leave it up to you two about the end of the verse:

Tomorrow’s the day
My bride’s gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!

(Don't blame me, I didn't write the lyrics. )

Tom / PM

PS - Mark, I bet that when you used to hear Phil Shapiro spin this song on VBR, you never thought it would one day apply to you heading out to Colorado, eh? Good decision, buddy!

Actually, looking out my window at the snow storm that Mark is bringing to Colorado, the lyrics will be more like:

Oh Oh, are we gonna' ride
Up on the high speed chair

I just got an e-mail from Bob Dylan. He said not to quit your day job to start writing songs.

. . . but you can't always ever really tell for sure what he really means. Keep the day job, keep the night job, and it's time for this line to end.

. . . but SERIOUSLY, folks, what a great day, and what a great move for you two. BEST WISHES from oboe and Dr. Bigfoot.

Songwriting? Nah! Erotica? Perhaps!
I take it that you will not be posting for a while. That you will have OTHER : things occupying your time?

Thanks for sharing that with us, LM.

look, here's the song, stop the madness.

Clouds so swift
Rain won't lift
Gate won't close
Railings froze
Get your mind of wintertime
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair !

I don't care
How many letters they sent
Morning came and morning went
Pick up your money
And pack up your tent
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair !

Buy me a flute
And a gun that shoots
Tailgates some substitutes
Strap yourself
To the tree with roots
You ain't goin' nowhere
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair !Genghis Khan
He could not keep
All his kings
Supplied with sleep
We'll climb that hill no matter how steep
When we come up to it
Whoo-ee ride me high
Tomorrow's the day
My bride's gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair !

Thanks PM and Ryan. Glad to see that some people remember songs that were written before the "Britney Spears Era."

The irony: rehearsals for Travels With My Aunt http://www.backstagetheatre.org/pages/shows_Travels.htm
are running 6 days a week! My husband is spending more time with my ski instructor {also in the show} than he is with me.
