I need to learn to fall better. I have been trying to train my mind, zen-like, to prepare better for wrecks, but I still am not sure I'm doing the right thing. At the moment, I try to fall forward and to the side. But I'm pretty vague on it. I also vaguely try to get my feet up. This feels really scary though, and I'm not sure it's safe. That's I guess what I heard someone somewhere say is the correct way to take a fall. Forward, side, and feet up? Is that right? I have also heard, I think, that fall backwards is the worst way? I also wonder what one does when you find yourself out of control. Is it best to fall? Is falling forward whilst hurtling down a steep icy chute or catwalk wise? I realize that the best option is to stay in control in the first place and ski to level. But it also seems stupid to pretend that falling never happens. Maybe not? I don't know.
