Actually you said what a bad lesson the canadian appeared to teach at the start of the season when you were taking the hiring clinic... although you liked HIM.....
Both came with high reccomendation from Monika - I trust her much more than your opinion - due to the fact that YOU are athletic & I am NOT... we have different learning needs.... Hugo has big raps for his disabled teaching...
You dislike the instructor that taught me most of what I needed to know - yet he was exactly what I
needed at the time.... (Ego aside he worked his butt off to work out how to make me ski) atm I can do with variety - not just him - but I still have to admit he
was the one that really got me skiing (& Franno but I did not get enough lessons with him till he ran off)
You also dislike my falls creek instructor - yet again he was someone who could teach me something I needed to learn
... I just learnt NOT to take in too much of his biomechanics/physics teaching & he learnt not to try as i would
pin him down on the stuff & we both know his knowledge was not solid in that area.... However you still admit he skis well - & very differently to my other instructors at the time - so something I needed was there....
I could not have skied with those 2 instructors I skied with this season 2 seasons ago - it simply would not have worked.... NOW my skiing is growing & my learning needs have changed a LOT. I have a repertoire of movement patterns that my brain has modelled - so it is possible for me to "do as requested" if I get a good description. The building of teh requisite low level movements has always been the problem & I doubt greatly that the canadian could have done that - although I enjoy skiing with him now.... Hugo may
just have been able to - although I have grave doubts in that regard.... I had no idea how much my movement ability had changed until my first lesson with him - he had me do things I know I could not do for Oliver only 1 season earlier.... the "beaker" canadian had sort of snuck some practice in there that I had not noticed.....
