Salomon Extra Hot Review

Thread Starter
I finally got to break in my new Extra Hots at Sugarloaf on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. I ended up going with the 175's and this was definitely the correct choice as I thought the ski was pretty stable for a light playful ski.

It really took me about 5 or 6 runs to find the sweet spot on these wider skis on the hard-pack, but great early eastern conditions at the Loaf. They are definitely lighter and more lively than my Volkl's. The edge hold was really quite good on a variety of terrain. As the day warmed up and the sun grew higher, a trip up to Timberline found some softer cut up snow to play around in. This is a really fun ski. I can't wait for some fresh powder to give these a full-bore try-out.

I will report more fully after a few more days of runs in different conditions.

I got a pair of extra-hots last season, you'll love it when you get some powder. Also, the more you push that ski the more lively it becomes. get agressive on them, and the sweet spot gets even bigger.
