Marquise is a nice building on Blackcomb mountain. It is not "top shelf" but its in the neighborhood. It is away from the action - although only a 10 minute walk from the main village and even shorter walk to the upper village (Chateau Whistler & FourSeasons Resort, Blackcomb Base - shops and restaurants are just 'downhill' from you). It will likely attract small groups, families, and those who are considering a quieter, fully equipped apartment. There is a central outdoor Hottub which will see plenty of use. Lift access is fairly direct to Blackcomb but getting to Whistler Mountain is a little more work. When you exit your complex simply ski downhill to the Wizard Express to access Blackcomb mountain. If you want to ski Whistler Mountain you'll need to take a lift up Blackcomb first - then ski-out on the "Village Run" which leads to the Gondola in the Village center. From there you can go up Whistler Mnt. Alternately, you can take a free shuttle bus (only a 2 minute ride) or walk the 10 minutes or so (which can be a chore in full gear) to Whistler's Base in the main village.
Town Plaza suites are much as the name implies. You will be right in the thick of the Village pedestrian arcade. Again, this is not "top shelf" accom. You will have everything at your door. The convenience will come at the cost of feeling a bit more cramped by the crowds and noise than you might at the Marquise. I'm not sure about the facilities at the Town Plaza Suites, but I believe the Hottub is located indoors. Please check with them to be sure. There are 3 separate buildings that go under the Town Plaza banner. The common thread is that the main level of each building house retailers, with the accommodation suites on the upper floors.
The choice for you to make is whether you are prepared to stay in the high-paced village center and enjoy the action - or do you prefer the quieter - albiet slightly less convenient upper village. You will be able to walk to the lifts to BOTH mountains from Town Plaza, by the way.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
