Yes, the 99's in my basement have the Geze toe, you are correct sir. By the way, I have been thinking about mounting the 99's on a pair of new hart javelins, which are based on the specs for the original design:http://www.hartskis.com/us/ski/6/
The FKS and the pivot have the newer Rossi toe, which probably has a better release profile. Actually, I think that the basic Rossi toe design has been around for at least 15 years as well. The Look turntable heel is still one of the best designs ever. There are not many designs that are 30 years old and still being skied upon.
Will also agree that the Solly heal has also stood the test of time, they are basically using the same unit with no changes on all of their top end bindings over the last ten years (712, 811, 912, 914, 916 and the newer Z10 and Z12).
Now, as we have discussed elsewhere, that new Solly toe is another matter altogether...
