IIRC, that site has had "next years" Volkl's for the past couple of years. How they get the info so early...baffles me.

Dunno. Those sneaky Russians
Looks like many of those cold war era Russian arms engineers are now designing skis.
Interesting, it looks as if the T50 series - 4star, 5star, etc, with the exception of the 6 star (now all-star) may have been integrated into the 724 series - now the unlimited series. Maybe im just seeing things. Race skis seem to be the same. I have to admit i really like the graphics on the unlimited skis, but do not care for the race skis very much. Hopefully those graphics and names wont carry over the to US market. Too bad i cant understand russian though. Maybe someone here can?

I’ll do my best and employ my first grade Russian to translate the basics.

Here goes….

-7 24 and energY will join to form the Unlimited line.

-V Ski series has been expanded(?)

-Race series P60 has been renamed the Race Tiger series and will be represented by four different models of skis: SL, SC, GS and RC. Two pairs each in SL and SC and two pairs each in GS and RC. The SL and GS models are 2mm wider than last years models.

-A woman’s only line has been added, known as the Attiva. The Queen Attiva will be the top model in the line.

-The Six Star has been retagged as the All Star and the new dims. are 116-70-101 as opposed to last years model at 114-68-99.

-The Dogen line is aimed new-schoolers and will replace the V Pro and the Expression.

That's weird. It makes me think of Queen Latifah, who definitely doesn't make me think of skiing.

The commentator didn´t have the chance to test them and his comments are mostly od graphics, on the changes in shapes or models.
The only significant commet on V.skis is that this line has been expanded most, making the impression Volkl wants to cover all possible and impossible wishes of freeskiers, with 2 completely new models and two "comebacks".
Sumo is a new twintip
Dogen is a new-school skireplacing V Pro and Expression
Otherwise, it´s just technical comments on the mm of shape or on design.
There should be no P anymore - just the Race tiger

There are a few words I don´t understand but together with Nix (his translation was absolutely OK) we´ve got it.
I don´t know when the Russians got the info but an early publicity is not that exceptional in Europe.
The Volkl representative in Czechia mostly has the next year´s collection for demo purposes as early as in December.
This might be because it´s only about 130 miles from the factory at Straubing, Bavaria to Prague.
It´s a small world, the Old World

I cut/pasted the Russian site into altavista's translation service and this is what they came up with: (the translation leaves a lot to be desired, but its funny to read)

Volkl 2005-2006: We look on the prototypes Dmitriy Klimov I propose to your attention the small survey of novelties Volkl of season 05-06. Basic changes in comparison with current season 04-05: series 7 24 and energY ob'edineny into one rule unlimited. (it is time, it was too many being intersected places editor's notes.) Is substantially extended a series of skis for the free rolling V SKI. The sport series P60 now is called RaceTiger. Everything, no more than Peshek... New rule of skis for the women - Attiva. Yet they did not approach testing of these skis; therefore I propose simply to look pictures. Thus, they went. V SKI (simply more than just skiing the curves) The largest changes occurred precisely in this series. It seems that Volkl decided to overlap all conceivable and unthinkable wishes of friskiyerov. In a series were added two completely new skis even two "recoveries". Supernovinka - SUMO Geometry: 145-125-142 Rostovka (turning radius): 175(24.9) Shirochennyy twin- type in small rostovke. The top of ski it is said is upholstered with the skin. Very prikol'no. This ski characterizes well changes in collection - ski they become MORE WIDELY, including gigantic and slalomki! MANTRA Geometry: 129-95-112 Rostovka (turning radius): 170(21.1), 177(23.2), 184(25.5), 191(27.9) This Explozive? It seems that thus. After two-year-old pause ski this of class will be again produced not only for the American market, but also for the European. Gotama, Sanouk and Karma they changed coloring. GOTAMA What Gotamy - in my opinion designers found the finally golden mean between the completely strict design of the first model and somewhat fanciful in this year. SANOUK Stump... It is amusing. KARMA DOGEN One additional novelty - purely n'yuskul'naya ski DOGEN (111-81-104). It arrived for change V PRO and Expression. MOGUL DRAGON SLAYER And again is produced Mogul Dragon Slayer (94-66-104) - mogul'naya ski. Which is interesting, judging according to the description heel in them wider than the nose, moreover it is substantial. If this is not misprint, then to try them on the mounds actually will be very interesting. Attiva (sorry, for women only!) Female series. Skis to any taste and level of rolling. The top model is called to sootvetstvuyushche: QUEEN ATTIVA QUEEN ATTIVA Geometry: 119-87-111 Rostovka (turning radius): 156(16.1), 164(18.1), 172(20.1) RaceTiger (don'.t ski it, race it!) A sport series, successor P60. as is usually in it represented 4 pairs of skis - two for slalom SL and SC, two for giant GS and RC. changed design - ski of steel with more garish, and, as me it seems, aggressive. Geometry in upper models changed - waist became MORE WIDELY by 2 mm!!! both in slalomki (SL) and in ski for giant (GS). RACETIGER SL RACETIGER SC RACETIGER GS RACETIGER RC Supersport (no more limits!) SUPERSPEED 6 stars changed name, now they are called ALLSTAR, and they became more widely in the waist. New geometry 116-70-101 against 114-68-99 in season 04-05. It seems that tendetsiya. Skis become more widely... ALLSTAR Unlimited (a dream for all slopes) Well, and a finally greatest mass and universal series - Unlimited.

It´s as funny as mostly if a machine with some sort of limited program and no knowledge of the subject gets to work.

purely n'yuskul'naya ski - it´s so cute!

How about Chinese - English?
I have a Chinese ski magazine SKEE at home.
Considering the future importance of the enormous market there we should be prepared to getting info from Chinese sources sooner or later

The pics dont show it but in adition to the allstar and superspeed, there will be a 5 star and a 4 star again.

The SC and RC will not be coming into the US. just the Sl and GS

That "Unlimited" line makes me think of the "Be Honest" thread...do they really need 10 variations? how different CAN each be. But along with religion, sex and politics, there will be agruements here about the differences on why the AC2 Black is just "smokes" the S2 Yellow and only wusses or mama's boys would ever ski that ski.

My experience tells me that has been cut and pasted from the international catalog. Phil, you're absolutely correct, I'm sure there isn't any difference between most of the skis at the lower end of that series. Manufacturers do that to try to match the graphics/marketing trends in as many different nations as possible.

I would guess that you wouldn't see more than four or five of those in any one country.

I like the Dogen (new V-Pro) 111-81-104, Mantra (new V-Ex...and it comes in a 184...and looks twinned) 129-95-112, and finally could the Unlimited AC4 be the updated G4 that has been rumored (123-82-110), but now with the integrated piston control binding?

Anyhow, I can see Volkl getting more of my cash next year...

Russian Intelligence sure does beat Western resources when it comes to ski spying...or is it that our guys keep better secrets?
It looks great. I am sure that the unlimited will consist of half of those skis.
Here is why this information got out to the public when everybody at Völkl can´t say anything about next years models. It´s a mail answer from my Volkl contact in Germany.

"The page is a copy from the rusian general-import they had a presentation
and made a copy of the catalog."

Now Volkl have closed the page!

Unlimited AC4

It's the Unlimited AC4. 123/82/110. 184cm turn radius of 19.5m. Double Grip LTP Sensor Wood Core, Motion AT w/ POCS.

I believe that it will live up to its heritage (G4, AX4).
