Boot sole length- Is a 305mm a 305mm?

Hey guys, I recently picked up a new pair of boots. A Nordica Beast in a 26.5 mondo size -which has a 305mm boot sole length. My previous boots also had a 305mm boot sole length.
I have a few pairs of skis and some people are saying that despite the same stated length on the boots, I should have all my skis checked for mounting and release. This would be a real hassle. Is it really necessary? The older boots are not beat up and are still probably still true to their stated length.

If they both have a 305mm, it should be consistent.

As to the necessity of a release check you'll get varying opinions. Anytime I change boots I get a release check. But then again, I'm trying to do everything possible to protect my war torn 44 year old knees. They need all the help they can get, and I figure the hassle is worth it.

The toe height may need to be adjusted depending on what bindings you have.

Are the boots both the same manufacturer?

I would still get a release check.
