My local ski shop is selling Integra 6.0s for $250 a pair. When I asked the guy at the ski shop, he said it was pretty good for an intermediate and improving skier. Unfortunately, I didn't ask what kind of conditions and turns it was good for, so I'd like to know how this ski turns, how well it does carving on a groomer and in other conditions, like off-piste or in crud. I'm particularly interested in how it handles ice, since I ski in New England. Keep in mind that I'm about 123 lbs, and so I would ski the Integra 6.0 in a 162. Can anyone give me any thoughts or opinions?
It's OK. If you want to stick to groomed intermediate trails and take mostly larger and medium radius turns it will be great. It holds fairly well through most turns but tends to be a little sluggish when you go off of the groomers, in the bumps and in crud. I too am a New Englander. I bought a pair last season, skied on them 6 times and then decided to move up. I had bought them as my first shaped ski.
I guess it really depends on what level intermediate you are. I think they would be a great ski for a lower to middle level intermediate. They may be fine for someone on the lighter side as well. I'd offer to sell you mine, or meet to let you try them out, but mine are 176cm, just a little long for you.
If you can find any place that demos them, I would do that first. I would also try several other skis. The price sounds ok, and if that is a major consideration for you they are not a terrible ski.
