This week - Taos or Durango ?

I'll be in the area this week and traveling with boards. Been watching their reports and it seems Durango (Purgatory I've learned) is getting a lot more snow.

Never been to either. Both look interesting. Appreciate any feedback.

You'll enjoy 13" fresh last 24 hours as of Monday early AM if you visit Taos. 11 runs open. Best of all, $20 lift tickets until December 17, 2004. And 50% off lodging at many properties. Check out my link (in profile) for most affordable downtown Taos lodging (from $29/night) during sale.

I usually prefer Taos, but even with 13" of fresh enough of the mountain in not open to get the true Taos experience. If I was that close right now I would go to Wolf Creek. 97" base already and 25" of fresh powder.

Taos doesn't have enough snow yet to merit a trip from Durango. There was a story in the Santa Fe New Mexican that said Telluride had 37" of new this recently. Thats where I would go.
