The plastic lift plates under both the toe and heel pieces are actually ~7mm thick, not 4mm. as I had thought. The odd design of the binding does cause the heel to be ~7mm. higher with or without the added plastic lifters.
So I removed the lifter under the heel of the binding only and now, there is ZERO ramp angle induced by the binding. There was no problem with binding function caused by removing this. All I had to do was use shorter screws to remount the rear binding.
I did this as a fix on my Dynastar Intuitiv 74's, which I skied today, and they skied noticably better IMHO. The hanging tail sensation was gone. I also just mounted the same bindings on a new pair of Fat K2 AK Enemies which I skied for the first time today and they skied beautifully with Zero ramp angle, even on crappy eastern hardpack.
So the easy fix is to remove the rear lifter. However, when I get a chance, I might also try to get a 7mm. shim for under the toe and put the rear lifter back to get some added leverage overall.
