who's on new skis for 2003?

What are you skiing, where are you skiing it, and why did you get it?

Me - Dynastar Speed Carve 63s, in 186. Utah, all season - based in Park City. I got 'em because they were damn cheap (about $430 US with Axial 120 bindings) and because they rule the groomers. Haven't taken them onto bumps or pow, have a feeling that they might suck, but so do I on those surfaces...

Keep 'em coming.

Volkl Vertigo g3's.

Picked up a new pair of boots, the Salomon Xwave 8's, with some custom footbeds.

I can't wait to try them out, as I've never skied on anything above an intermediate ski because of financial reasons...

Picked up the pair of k2 mach s bump-me was selling. I can't wait to try them out because I've only been on beginner/ maybe intermediate skis before. Also got new Tecnica Rival x7 boots.

Just bought Volkl T-50's (175cm). Haven't skied them yet, but they were suggested by someone I trust. Coming off Solomon Exscreams (187) which I loved.

Just got a pair of brand new Tecnica Rival RX for my birthday - woohoo! And I got brand new Volant Z's for $29 end of last season... AND over the summer a brand new Boeri Axis helmet for $23 on eBay! I have never had anything but old ski swap gear so this is unimaginable luxury for me. Hope it snows...

I just orderred a pair of Atomic SX:11's and a pair of Nordica Beast 92 TT's. I heard the atomic's rock so I had to find out. As for the Nordica's I haven't heard much about them but they do have nice shape and not every highschool kid will be riding them up on the hill.

All Atomic, of course...

180cm SX-11
191cm GS-11
164cm SL-11
183cm SugarDaddy

Plus about 35 pair of demo skis.

Demo pair of Race Stock Rossignol 9S WS with Axial 100. High School students do not have much cash..so $350 w/ bindings is a BUY Should be better in the slalom than my Atomic 10.26 Jr. that I used last year! Yes, GS skis do not work that well in the slalom
post #13 of 27
Demoed the living $h17 out of the Rossignol Bandit XX last season and ended up buying a pair. Got to use them [as my own skis] only one day last season, so these are "virtual virgins" for the 2002-2003 ski season. I have a h@#d*n the size of Florida to run these babies! Not braggin'!

Saw these never-used Volant Super Ti 178s with bindings for $250 and couldn't say no.

Oboe...

Do you like those XX's?

Just wondering.

I'm aboard your train as well. Bought a wrapperred pair of 191 XX's at Snowbird's Octoberfest two weeks ago for an outrageous price. I'm pumped.

Of course, I also just got a pair of 175 Head World Cup TI Slaloms for those no-snow days.

So,

Where's the d*mn snow???????????????????????

Stockli Easy Riders (mid fats). Although they have been used a bit in the closing days of season 2002 for us. Bases are still unmarked, so I'll pretend they're still new.

I go to the shop employee on snow demos at the end of each season to find the hot stuff.

I am historically a Volkl skier but these days Salomon is making skis that perform better AND are not as demanding. I do try to keep one brand of ski in my quiver at any given time because they tend to ski similarly.

fair enough.... I am still very impressed by the number of axes you have.

It's just me, 1080s and Speed Carves this season in Utah. I was also thinking about investing in 9:12s, but I think money may be a problem....
K2 Axis X Pro.

Oh, and 34 other varietals of race, all mountain, supercross, terrain park, fats and so on that I can't be bothered listing, plus 5 new Bogner one-piece suits.

Picked up 2003 Atomic R:10 180cm w/ R4.12 bindings. I unfortunately live in the south so my skiing will be in North Carolina and West Virginia with at least one trip to Whistler and hopefully another to Utah. I got them because they are a good all around ski and since they are not as stiff as the R.11s I thought they would be better in the bumps (which I am spending lots of time in these days...but I am still learning). I got the skis & bindings shipped for $630.
