Well XDog, here's my two cents. The way I see it, you have three good options here. Surefoot has glowing reviews, and is apparently in your neighborhood, so easy access is a plus. Up here in Stowe, I figure you have two good choices.
1) Go see Benny at Inner Bootworks. Advantage being that he is right at the hill (well, almost), so you can get work done, try it on snow and immediately go back while you can remember what you want.
2) Go see Doug Stewart at Alpine Shop in Burlington. He will be coaching at the academy, so he will be able to see you on snow as opposed to just in the shop. A big plus if you are looking for alignment work. I went over there on Tuesday with my wife, and I assure you, he knows his $hit.
I am personally going to Benny, because I know exactly what I want, and I like the convenience of him being right at the hill. Also, I can grind out my boots a bit at a time instead of going whole hog and discovering that I've gone too far. Bonnie will continue to work with Doug, because he will be able to see her on snow, and see how the boots actually perform and work from there.
