Hello all.
I am new to this forum and I needed to get your opinions on the 03-04 Nordica SUV 12. Has anybody demoed these skiis and what are they like?
Thanks.

I owned a pair last season. If I lived in the east the SUV 12x would be my main ski. It has amazing hardsnow performance even with its 70mm waist. It is extremely smooth & stable.....I never reached its speed limit even in the wide open spaces at Big Sky. It is capable of skiing a few inches of powder or crud.

The downside is it is a very stiff, heavy ski. Be sure to get it in a shorter length. I'm 5' 11", 180# and the 180cm I had were too much work in the moguls. I would have been better of with some 170cm.

While looking for an all-mountain, do-it-all ski, I tried the SUV 12s and found them a bit soft for me...I'm 6'3'' 210...then tried the Speedmachines and found them a bit too stiff...finally settled on the SUV 14 in a 180 and absolutely love 'em!

MountainLord -

This year's SUV 12xbs is softer than last year's SUV 12x, which Nix is looking at. The 03/04 SUV 12x is closer to the 04/05 SUV 14xbs in stiffness & performance.

Nix,

I tried 03-04 SUV 12 at 175cm and loved them. They have great edge hold for all-mountains. Normally I ski longer skis, Volkl Vertigo Motion and Atomic EX at 191 but I did not feel that SUV at 175 was too short. They were great on grommed, off-piste I'd prefer something a little bit longer. I'm 6'4" 210 lb.

Hope it helps.

Thanks everyone...

I truly appreciate all the input. All that's left to do now is pick up a pair and pray for snow!!!
Cheers!
