Not a quote but I have a look I give bar slammers when I have hold of the safety bar to stop them slamming in on peoples heads that says

"There is only one person in control of this bar and you're looking at him"

I dont get hit because I have hold of the bar first.

As a motor mechanic for 25 years I have above average grip, forearm leverage and a more evil death stare so I get no arguments..

Its to save the unsuspecting others from bar slammers and some attempt at curing bar slammers of their arm spasms.

I think I can spot them now too, the "fidgeter" in the lift line is a high probability bar slammer.

But

Getting hit in the head by the bar is usually because people trusted others on a chair to not grab a metal bar and slam it on the head of the person nearby.

So they have to accept partial fault for that.

Sometime during my first trip to Alta/Snowbird: "I'm having a lot of trouble with this deep powder. I learned to ski in the East - I get confused enough when I can't hear my skis, let alone when I can't see them!" 

In the lift line:

"Are you in the singles line?"

"Only when my wife isn't around".

I can neither confirm nor deny I was involved in this brief conversation
