Skiingman how were the conditions? Many Rocks? Where did you go?
I went everywhere you could go, hehe. Which isn't a whole lot. Rime was decent yesterday, you could get a solid rhythm going for 10-12 bumps at a time, then float over some icy berms and repeat.
"Gapers" are those people that show up for the concept of early season skiing and either:
-can't ski very well at all
-more commonly, can ski decently, but don't understand that ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD and you DO NOT have to "one up" everyone else. People were literally pushing and shoving to get ahead of each other on opening day. Give me a break.
Yesterday, the telemark gapers were out in force as well. People that can't seem to get their heel free. You think you are looking at an alpine skier...but no.
Essentially, there are just way too many people that think
they are good on too little terrain.
More terrain for this weekend, so I'll see how it goes. I decided not to go Sunday morning, but I have a Rossignol deal to check out Tuesday.
EDIT: No rocks man. Opening day at K is never rocky. You are a lot more likely to find rocks in January actually. The snow was awesome on Tuesday, a little chunky but still nice on Thursday. My buddy is checking out Okemo today, they are more likely to have rock action.
