Nov 17th Summit County

Anyone want to ski Wed Nov 17th?

So far it's just me. I hate to ski by myself.

I can go anyplace. (I land at 7:50 so probably about 10 realistically to get to most places)

Copper, A-basin, Loveland. Anything else open by then?

Copper is where I'm staying, but I'm for whatever has the best early season runs. (and I'll be at copper the next 4 days anyway - so variety is always nice)

Copper is fine with me. It will be 2 weeks after an already healing injury!

I'm not teaching that day. Be happy to ski with you at Copper. Anyone else?

Sounds great, but we don't get into Denver till around 6pm

Any get togethers happening the 18th to the 24th?

Well, you can meet up with SCSA at Vail on the 22nd!

I'll be taking lessons at Copper every Sunday {$199 unlimited, you can't beat that} but maybe I can hook up with you folks at some point. Thursday, Friday lunch, and Saturday morning, I have classes scheduled, but if there's good snow, everybody comes at night. Where will you be staying? Is Lori coming to ESA this year?

Time and Place? My flight gets in at 7:50 so with luggage, lugging, rental car pickup, traffic, drive up the hill, get lift tickets, I would probably be ready to go about 11:00am in a best case.

I could have my FRS radio set to a certain frequency.

Grey Jacket, Green Dalbello boots, probably orange Metron B5's, Grey Ovo Helmet.

Here is how I looked on my 3nd day of skiing in March 2003 the day after my first ski lesson. The first day I spent 2 hours getting down the quicksilver run.

And a tad more up to day pic

Here I am this spring in my green boots, grey coat, and grey ovo helmet. This will be closer to what I'll look like. (top of Mammoth in late spring 2004)

WHOAA!!! I guess you don't have problems with altitude sickness! This crowd usually skis pretty early. There's a Summit Stage that gets into Copper at 8:47 am, so I'll be there around 9:00. We can pick a spot to meet up with you at 11:00.

I'm not working that day so I will be out skiing like a girl if the weather is nice!

Cool! John, we'll have to do some "Katy sitings!" She is an inspiration!

cool - up to 4 it looks like

up to 4 people it looks like

good - the more the merrier

11am - just tell me where and as a contingency I'll PM my cell number and frs frequency at some point before I go.

(I'm assuming a "Katy siting" is a type of drill?)

Actually - Mammoth vs A-basin

It may look high, but A-basin is quite a bit higher than Mammoth. My wind is always a challenge from my 600ft above sea level perspective. Eastern skiing is much more likeable in this regard.

More heart monitored elipitic!

I knew that. Lisamarie loves her instruction. But, this is a fun ski day. No instruction.

I read siting as sitting and the thought of the Gorrilla seating drills popped into my head. So I was thinking in terms of a Katy gorrilla turn drill as in sitting. If you saw the video (leaving my personal opinion out of it) you'd see why I was thinking what I was thinking.

Gotta love forums.

So, where is a good place to realiably hook up at Copper at 11am?

Lisa - did the Doc say how long you get to where that brace?

John- You are right it will be a fun day with no instruction!! It's a day off for me and when I have a day off it's a DAY OFF!!!!!!! Looking forward to skiing with you and the rest of the folks that show up!

I'm warning you, John! If Katy sees you looking to serious, she'll ski by you and cackle at you!
I would never do something like that!!!!!
We're meeting John at 11:00. How early do you maniacs want to hook up? I shouldn't ask, but does anyone want to go into Boulder that night?

You're going to be embarassed to be seen with me, because I have to do the ultimate act of gaperism in Colorado. I need to put the bar down on the lift so I can rest my foot. It's ok if you pretend you don't know me!
