First of all Marker does not have a pre release problem. A binding is supposed to release if you get in a comprimised position, if it does not, then there is something wrong. Marker bindings have a limited ammount of elastcity, a term that has been thrown around lately by other binding manufacturers. Others have alot of elastic travel, Marker has virtually none. Who has ever been going down a hill, see that there leg is half out of the binding and been able to get back in properly, while skiing, NO ONE!! Markers have the safest and number one selling binding in the world, PERIOD.
As for the motion, it is worth it. Volkl sells 80% of their skis with the motion, It just skis better. If you were to test a flat ski with a standard binding, then one with the motion, you will DIFFENATLY know a difference. Heavy, what is that, weight has nothhing to do in skiing. Skiing is a downhill sport where gravity takes place. Weight only matters with your skis on your shoulder walkin gto the parking lot.
