Snowing at Jay Peak!

Just thought you Eastern skiers would like to hear that we're getting snow up here in Northern Vermont!

OK, it's not much. And it's wet. And it's mixed with rain and sleet. But it's a start! And at the summit, it's all snow! Forecasts are calling for snow at higher elevations throughout the rest of the week...

Let the winter games begin!

That's some of the best news I've heard in a long time Now it needs to work its way down to lower elevations and further south...

This morning when I was coming to work, I could see snow on the Cold Hollow Mountains, which are near Jay but are much lower in elevation. And Jay was wrapped in a cloud...surprise, surprise!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

If you weren’t already anxiously awaiting the start of the 2004-05 ski/ride season this might help get you in a skiing/riding frame of mind: it’s SNOWING at Jay Peak. We’ve had mixed precip at the base and snow at the summit since early this morning. The forecast for the rest of the week is calling for rain and snow, which, given Jay’s elevation and generally cooler temps, will hopefully end up being more snow than rain. We’ll keep you posted.

It's true, those photos are old, from mid-October (but the snow didn't stick around). Not sure why they don't put up some current photos, as the snow is still there today.

I WISH I was ripping a line, but there's not enough snow to do anything other than rip an edge.
