Copper Nov. 12

John H. is coming to Summit County and will be skiing Copper on November 12. If you''ve never met him, you don't know what you're missing! I may be teaching for part of the day, but I'd love to meet up with some folks, either in the morning or afternoon. Since many Bears already teach there, it should be easy to get a group together. Join us if you can!

Hey Lisa, Thanks for posting this. It would be great if we can get a bunch of people. If not for skiing at Copper, we can all meet at the Dillon Dam Brewery after skiing. Because the trails will be crowded and few, I doubt I'll be skiing until last chair, so maybe meet at the brewery at 4:00 unless people will be coming to Copper just for the afternoon. Then maybe ski until last chair and meet at 5:00 or 5:30.

I am soooooo looking forward to my first day on skis.

Time to go tune skis for the first time this season!

Would it be possible to do Back Country Brewery in Frisco instead? Its right down the street from my studio, and a bit closer to Copper.

Never been to Back Country Brewery. But I like Frisco. That's where I used to live (back off 4th street). I even named my dog Frisco!

Where is the Brewery?

Well, it seems that "The Conspiracy" is not going to let me ski!
This is BackCountry Brewery's site:

I may stop by Copper that afternoon to get my photo taken for my pass.

Are we still doin' beers at the Back Country? Well, I am, even if the rest of you are too chicken - I can sit on a barstool better than 97% of you! (okay, I only fall off it 3% of the time!)

Kima, you in?
Anyone else?

John, are you skiing more than Friday? I'll be up in Summit on Saturday and planning to ski then.

Hello from Denver (Parker to be exact)

Here's my plan. 4:00 at Back Country brewery in Frisco. (Is it on the corner of Rt 9 and Main St?). I looked at the location described on their web site, and all it says is it's near the marina. But when I used to live here (1989-89), the only marina on Lake Dillon was in Dillon. But the picture looks like Rt9 and Main.

I'll be skiing only on Friday. Flight leaves on Saturday, and as much as I'd like to miss it, the wife and kid are here, and probably would have a problem with me taking another day to ski. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be coming up to Summit Co, so they won't get a chance to meet people.

TSAVO, are you teaching at Copper? If so, I can look for you at lineup if you attend the normal first linup at the base.

I'll be able to check in here tomorrow evening as well.

Yes I will be at lineup at 10:00 unless I get booked with a private. I'll be one of the many standing around looking like a C-Dot worker!!

Taking things one day at a time. If I don't have anyone for my 12:00 class, and if I feel confident enough about my knee, I'll catch the 12:30 bus to Copper, which will get me there around 1:00. If not, I'll meet you at Backountry Brewery at around 4:00. I have a definite class at 5:00, so I won't be getting too drunk.

Yes it is right on the corner of Main street. I will see you at 4:00, I'll look for someone who's looking for someone they do not know. Should be easy.

Since I know both of you, I'll be able to hook everybody up.

If you do get too drunk, please remember that it's me who's showing up at the condo later that night. :

Kima and John: please remember LM has a 2-drink limit at altitude. Don't let her spin any stories about needing to "dull the pain":

Should be fun! One note: It will be my first day out post injury, so I will be pretty tentative. Don't feel you have to slow down for me!
