I am currently inbetween these two models and was wondering if there was an opinion on each that could be helpful in purchasing. Thank you for your help and pray for snow.

Rossi00,
Here's the word I got on the Atomic. Great ski. Very demanding, in that when you set the edge that better be the turn you wanted because you're on your way. No playing around. Stay on your toes. Good in crud. Can be tough in the bumps. Don't worry about hardpack, because it no longer exists. (My experience with both Volkl and Atomic are very similar... both are excellent hard snow skiis. Ask Herman 8o)

Good luck with your quest for the perfect board. As the prices go up so does the anxiety.

As always thanks for the input Salty, I guess price will soon be the most determining factor. I have my eye on some SX9s as we speak.

SX-9 is plenty of ski. I skied it last year in a 180 cm length. I'm 6 ft 180 lbs. After skiing the ski (very stable and solid) I would have purchased the 170 length. Ideally probably 175 cm, but you have 10 cm increments with this ski. Some people on the forum, tried the ski and didn't like it. I think it was a very good carving ski that is very precise. Not ideal for moguls, but still very skiable in bumps.

Last spring I saw the ski at 50% off . Can't beat the SX-9 at $350.
