The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Seven Springs has agreed to re-open LaurelMountain this season. Details here:

If any folks living in the Mid-Atlantic every thought of giving Laurel a try, you've got another opportunity. The agreement with Somerset Bank is only for this coming season. The continued operation of Laurel by Seven Springs will very much depend on skier visits.

If you're an advanced/expert skier and have skied 7 Springs and wished for more challenging terrain, this season you'll be able to check out nearby Laurel.

If you like your skiing more rustic and less resort you'll like Laurel. There is no slope side anything, just a Lodge with basic amenities.

I do hope that more people give Laurel a try and convince Seven Springs owners that Laurel is worth the effort. With 450 acres within the State Park boundary and sympathetic park management, Laurel has the potential to be the best expert play ground in the state.
