Snow in Central MA today. (Eastern part of Western MA also)

It flurried today. At about lunch time I was in the office and a group of students came in to see if they were still going to have their soccer game because it was snowing. I looked out the window and saw white flakes coming down. It lasted for a good 15 minutes. I saw it in Ware (which is in the eastern part of Western MA) and have reoports from Leicester, East Brookfield, Bookfield, Spencer, and West Brookfield. It didn't stick and it didn't even coat the ground white (the ground just got wet), but it was nice to see.

Send some of that down this way!

I checked the weather there online....it said you guys had a low of 45 degrees, high of 61 yesterday, 0 precip, same as us. I was outside yesterday morning, and it was really warm.....tshirt warm.

How does it snow at that temp, and how do we get some here in the mountains??

Squally snow can occur at temps in the 40's. I'm no meteorologist, but I guess it's colder aloft and as the snow falls it doesn't have time to melt or evaporate despite above freezing temps at the surface.

With this kind of forecast, I highly doubt it. Thanks for the dream anyway, Max.

Hey, they changed the forcast for central VT. The other day they said cold and rain this saturday or sunday night. I figured Killington, Okemo and Stratton might get some white stuff.

Oh well, lets hope soon...

Well, I am not the only one that saw the flakes. In fact, another person posted on another site about it (very similar to what I posted). http://alpinezone.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2043

Th latest copy of "The Drift" said that Killington Peak is going to get some snow this Sunday night above 3000 ft. It's not much but it's a start

Let's cross our fingers!

Today a bunch of ski patrollers, and me, cleared the brush from a run at Bousquet. (talk about STEEP! I fell on the way down.) What a way to spend the morning!

You know snow is coming when the ski patrol clears the runs where mowers can't go!
