Ski Dreams....

Had a great ski dream the other night, I was late getting to ski school and had to rush, next thing I know I'm arrving at the hotel and it's dumpin' big time, next I'm in a patrol hut and I'm looking at the window across the mountain and there is about 3 feet of pow and it's still coming down. All of a sudden, I realize I only packed ski gear and didn't have any deodorant, toothbrush and other crap. Then I woke up! That's keeping your priorities straight. Please share any ski dreams you have had.

I have a similar one EVERY year.

It's October and my wife suggests we take the kids up to the mountains for a day of fall hiking. We head to a ski area (usually Vail, which is odd because I haven't lived near Vail in 13 years) and take a chairlift up to hike from the top.

When we get on the chair, things change. Almost immediately, the mountain is covered with 3' of new snow and everyone below us is skiing! I'm incredibly bummed to be sitting on the lift in civilian clothes with my ski gear back at home. I end up taking the lift down and spend the rest of my dream frantically running around Vail Village looking for ski gear to buy/rent/borrow/steal to ski for the day.

I wake up incredibly stressed from this recurring dream!

KevinH mine are like nightmares too.

Ron funny you should ask this. I had a ski "dream" too last night. I was just getting ready to put on my skis and noticed that were split down the middle like an old piece of wood. I asked someone where I could rent skis and old evil man
answered "We Don't Rent Skis Here" It was awful, I was very sad

I dreamt recently about getting on the lift on a big pow morning and not having my skis on. I woke up in a sweat, but I realized it was a dream because i am never on the chairlift on a big pow morning

Great dreams, thanks for sharing, but did you all have deodorant on?

A couple of nights ago I dreamed I was asleep in a first class Swiss Rail compartment heading from Zurich airport to St. Anton. My plane had just landed in a snow storm, cars were skidding off the road, but I was asleep in this nice warm train compartment heading to one of my favorite ski resorts for a week of skiing. Dream or reality? I woke up to another day in Washington, DC, but this very event did occur two years ago. That storm dumped close to three meters of snow on Valuga.

I shower after the skiing day and
put deodorant on for the evening...
Daylight protection from smell is entrusted to soap only.

To some it may be a nightmare, but it can be a fact of life in the East:

On Tuesday I dreamt that I got off the top of the chairlift of an unidentified resort with all the gear I needed. Because it was early season, only two trails were listed "open"--one had snow, and the other didn't. To avoid skiing with other people I took the one without snow and "skied" down the rocks, shrubs, and dirt until I met my wife at the bottom. Interesting, though: my wife doesn't ski and I didn't check my skis for damage! I sure woke up confused. :

I have a recurring dream.

I'm walking down the shoulder of a highway to go to a ski resort. Then, I realize that I'm 3/4 of the way there (about 60 miles!) and realize that I forgot my skis, and wondering what I'm going to do about it when I get there. Soon, I realize that I not only don't have any of my equipment with me, but I'm also wearing street clothes.

When I wake up, I realize that it was a sunny warm day, because I was only wearing Jeans and t-shirt in the dream.

Be careful! If you land snowing an go to St Anton Snowing, you´ll probably not ski for 2 or 3 days...sad but true

I just woke up in a cold sweat. I dreamed that the season was ending and I had only skied two days on my season pass.

I had a real messed up dream last night.

I was at Killington and there was a lift that went above this nasty steep run that had rocks and ice on it. I mean like 70 degree steep (it's a dream you know)

The strange part is that there was a diving board halfway down it.

Not sure what that means.

.
I've been there. As I recall the snowmakers come out in their blue suits and chase you off the closed trail.
