I'm going to be there. Who else????
I'm hoping to be there, but it looks like work may get in the way. If they do a weekend mini-Academy, as they did in past years, I may do that. Otherwise, I might go for 4 days.

Where are you finding this info? PSIA-E's site says it will release 04/05 events on August 30th. All I can find is an application, no dates, no location, nothing. Am I lost? :

I found it in the newsletter, which I got Monday. The newsletter is posted on psia-e.com also.

Hmmm...I thought I only saw the application in my Snow Pro? I'll go look again.

This sounds like a great event. For those who have attended this event in the past how was your experience? My plans is to train for L3 part 2.Thoughts?

Thanks,
Terry

It's probably the best event that's offered. The examiners will let you know where your at, and what you have to work on. Then you've got most of the season to work at it. In addition, there's the comraderie and fun..... many of us have been attending for years just to get the season started right and to see our old buds from other mountains that we don't get to see but once a year.

I've even had great clinics in really poor snow conditions. They know how to get creative fast when they have to.

Here's an event log from 2002 I accidently stumbled across while seaching for something else....

Post-marked mine yesterday. Can't wait to put my boards on! Would love to meet some fellow bears/instructors. Apres ski anyone?

Just ran into a fellow instructor today. He signed up a couple of weeks after the start of the application date. He's on the waitlist (high up).

I'll be there! This will be something like year 12 or 13 for me. We have a group of about 8-10, and probably a lot of others from Whitetail going.

Everyone pray to Uller for good early snow and cold air!

I don't know how many from Liberty will be there. I think this will make my 10th. Several of us are staying at the Mt. Sports Inn. Where are we meeting Sun. night?? Or at least find each other at the banquet Thu. night. Maybe we can identify ourselves somehow?? Where's everyone staying?

If you haven't registered yet, be advised: There's a waiting list, which is why I won't be there.

Sorry to hear it Oboe... there's been a waitlist since mid-Oct. How far down are you? I know the waitlist usually moves quite a bit.

Yeah, Oboe, it fills up very fast. You sort of need to plan for this in the summer and get your application in the mail the first monday morning that they allow postmarks.

Liberty will probably have the usual large crowd of 20-30+ (similar to, but usually slightly more than Whitetail).

Maybe we could pick a place in the lodge and meet monday afternoon or tuesday morning. I know that ever since they moved the ProJam to Kmart, my group (about half of the Whitetail people) have set up camp in the room off to the side (across the overpass/walkway) where the round tables and food service is - past the stairs. We normally set up at the closest table to the entrance to that room. There is also the area upstairs in front of the bar (or in the bar is never a bad place, just possibly harder to find people you have never met before!)

Maybe pick a time and place and put an EpicSki plaquard on a table (or an Epic Hat in the middle of the table if someone has one) so that people will know to look for something specific.

Of course, there may only be 3 or 4 Bears there.

I'd love to do what I did last year and crash the ETU breakfast just to meet folks and say Hi, but I'll be at Windham that weekend, and the wife and kid are coming with me.

In answer to the question, I'm not even on the waiting list. I've opted to use the time off I would have allotted for the Pro Jam to other events. In all, I'll be attending five PSIA-E events.

Windham is great. I get there every spring. When I first started attending the event (ITC at Mt. Snow) I think Liberty had 60 or so attending. Finding you should be easy for me. I know several of the Whitetail folk.

I looked for you last year, but didn't find you. I also know several of the Liberty people, because I worked there until 1988. But the people that I asked, didn't know you. Most or all of the Whitetail people who go know me, because I have been at WT since they opened in '91.

True... I wasn't there last year. I actually did hear from a bunch of people there were a couple of people asking about where I was. I've been a weekender at Liberty since '92. They desperately needed people after the great exodus of instructors to Whitetail. BTW... I also work for the marketing dept. for the areas (as does therusty).

Rest assured I'll be a Kmart this year and we'll finally meet. PS... I'll be the girl on the red and grey stocklis.

See you next month....
