I live in Boulder and have worked at Eldora full time for three seasons. My only argument with the article involves lodging. I would not try to stay in the Boulder area and ski those three resorts. It is a little to far. Boulder to Eldora is thirty minutes, to Loveland an hour and to WP/MJ an hour and fifteen.
I like Loveland so much I buy passes there each year for myself and my family. I ski free there ONCE our resort opens, however I buy the pass to enjoy an early open (late October) and late close (early May). It sounds strange but I took the family on a ski vacation last spring and we chose WP. The town is great and the skiing superb.
I know of two very nice homes that are rented weekly in WP. They are very nice. One is a five Bedroom and the other a two bedroom. P.M. me and I'll give you the details.
Again, I say stay in Summit or Grand counties, ski the mega resorts during the week and the smaller resorts on the weekend.
Don't try to drive from Boulder.
