Try Cottonwood Heights or SandyThese areas are southeast of SLC and sit at the base of the roads that access the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. If you are patient in your property search you should be able to score a property with some great views of the Salt Lake valley and the Wasatch Mountains. These are real plusses for potential vacation renters. We have owned a second home in this area for the past few years which we use part-time for our own use and make it available for vacation bookings for most of the year. Our management agent charges 30% for the administration stuff, adverts, booking the place, cleaning, etc. You should be able to tailor your management agreement some to suit your own needs too. Our property generates enough income to service the mortgage and pay property taxes. The rest, monthly utilities, upkeep, improvements, furnishing, comes out of pocket. The nice thing about this area is that it is situated perfectly for access to all the resorts and it is close to SLC and the airport. In most ski parties you are going to have individuals that like to have nice dinners in SLC, catch a Jazz game, and enjoy an improving nightlife scene in SLC.
