Any of the big name company's have great stuff. How deep are your pockets ? That seems to be the deciding factor. Try looking in www.sierratradingpost.com they have a good selection and I great company. I have been buying from them for years.
Arc'Teryx Theta or Sidewinder. Yes, they are expensive but that are bombproof, guarenteed for life and fit incredibly well. Not tight anywhere but no loose bagginess to them. 3 layer gore-tec XCR, seemless, waterproof zippers. Best construction period. I have two tackets and pants. I use the Theta jacket for a lot of hiking. I actually wore a couple of spots and sent it in to be reconditioned. Fixed like new, no charge. All of their stuff is awesome. Look around now for left overs from last year.
JBalmer, Here is another shop. Scandinavian Ski Shop (Glenview, IL)

I am in the great wet Pacific Northwest. I use an Arcteryx Sidewinder TR (no hood since I wear a helmet) over a Arcteryx Gamma SV when it is cold & wet which is often. These are veryhigh quality, very durable, functional pieces and and have held up amazingly well. Well worth their price!
