Well I personally dont have any experience on this seasons 2V. I did ski the 2V last season with the power axe race GS plate aka... Hangl. The ski did work well for racing but wasnt terribly fast, it deffinitly had a speed limit (i didnt think so until i skied other GS skis). They may have corrected this issue for this season's model. If you arent skiing terribly steep or fast courses i would reccommend this ski. It also would probably make a nice free ski based on the shape and soft flex that usually comes with a Salomon ski. Deffinitly use the hangl race plate on them along with an S914 AXE+ binding - not the FIS binding. This will get you so far off the snow that you will never again have to worry about booting out. If you still boot out at this height then you need new skis and a few FIS race starts.
A ski with similar shape that i now have experience on is my new Equipe GS Race skis. They are the race stock salomon gs ski. The shape is 101-65-88 at a 182cm length. The radius is slightly over 21m - may be more but i know that it is FIS legal. This ski is FAST. I skied it tonight for the first time... wow, is all i have to say right now. It has unshakable edgehold, and incredible stability. It is actually the only ski i have ever felt like it was capable of going faster than i might like to go, unfortunately i cant test this capability on our small hills in western NY. I'm going to leave a review in the consumer gear review section as soon as im done with this post so go check it out.
