I have several pairs of skiis with different bindings on them, all used, purchased from ebay. I have a DIN chart, and I also know that the number shown on the binding is not 100% reliable, so I will check them next time I go to the slope. I have hurt my knee by a non-releasing rental ski two years ago, so I understand the safety issues.
The skiis were used, so I have to adjust the binding to fit the size of my boot (only about 1/4" adjustment is needed). And I find that the boot can be locked in place at three different positions. Obviously, the fartherst apart is not a good choice. So my question is whether I should choose the mid-position or the closest position.
As a matter of fact, there is no professional ski shop in my area, and the best thing I could do is to learn everything that can be done without using specific tools and do it correctly by myself.
