Jackson Report 2-24&2-25

As of today JH has received approx 40 inches of snow in the last 7 days. It is the best conditions of the year with (as of 1:00PM Sunday) the valleys filling in between the bumps off track. It should be getting better and better as it is still snowing. In general the Mt is in very good shape with lots of new snow over semi consolodated older snow. Groomed runs were all pretty soft with very few spots of hard snow. Lots of rocks that I have seen sticking up for the whole season are now covered.

I seriously considered taking today (Monday) as a powder day. After the bad start to the season I would say we are recovering.

I skiied JH on friday for the tele comp. Casper bowl had been held for us and was DEEP!!, other than that, the resort was a little powder over hard bumps.

Hit the pass on Sat, skiied Powder Preserve, Edelweiss, Edelweiss backside, and Columbia Bowls. Toured from 10am til 5pm, one of the best days i've ever had on the pass, the snow couldn't have been any better!

Targhee on sunday was a great day too, some new snow over lots of cut powder. The visibility wasn't too bad, you could tell which way was up. The wind was kicking pretty good and was filliing tracks in between runs.

All in all, Wyoming is looking alot better than Montana. On the drive home we were in snow until we crossed the Mt border where it turned sunny.

Free your heels, poke your eyes out!
