Hi

We're a family of 4 (5 and 7yo daughter newbies) who are going to Steamboat in Jan for a conference. Girls are going to ski school. Me too as I'm green girl only. Any good places to eat in the town/ski area for families? We're staying in the Gondola Square condos and my conference is at the Sheraton.

Thanks for your help.

Cantina is nice if you like mexican, madie silks is a fancier type of atmosphere but still good. The Charthouse is good for steaks. If you are staying at a Steamboat Resorts property they have a guidebook that lists some of the favorite spots.

For families with young children, I'd consider the Western Barbecue at the top of the gondola. You get to take a gondola ride at night to an all-you-can-eat buffet (it is a bit pricey). There's a country western band as entertainment, and that entertainment includes dancing, line dancing instruction, spoon stuck to the nose contest, ... The food is ok, but the real draw for young children is the entertainment and the gondola ride at night.

Another choice that might be fun for families with small children is The Swiss Haven (downtown). Kids sometimes like fondues because of the activity involved in simply eating.

Most restaurants in town are casual, and therefore appropriate for entire families.

Thanks a lot...our kids love fondue and we've already signed up for the BBQ Gondola restaurant.
