Are the resorts around Denver open already? How are the conditions? Specifically, has anyone been to Copper, Breckenridge or Keystone?

Mrs. Skicrazy & I skiied Keystone on Sunday. Typical overgroomed/icy early season conditions. I notice that they have since closed about 1/2 of the acerage that they reported on Sunday morning.

Monday at Copper Mountain was a different experience. MUCH better snow conditions and coverage. We had a gas!

Loveland is also skiing great for early season (we were there on Saturday instead of Vail with their 11,000 opening day skiers). Snow condtions are great and there were no lift lines.

I skied at Loveland last weekend too and it was wonderful. So much terrain, including black and double black.

I think Breck will be pretty good this weekend as far as groomed runs. It doesn't have the same problems as Keystone. I'm going to check it out with a snowboard (not so good at it yet).

I wish it would snow again.

A-basin was great on Saturday, everything was so soft. I was skiing untracked, knee deep powder in the trees and cut up powder everywhere else. Lift lines were at max maybe 7 minutes, not bad and much better at the end of the day.

i had fun at Key on Sat. and Sun.

Sunday morning, we went to Breck for one run, but the lines were way too long, so we went back to Key.

Tuesday at Key was great until about 2pm. Wednesday, I did two runs and left at 10am... too icy.

Today was awesome at Copper. I should buy another 4-pack

Looks like snow this weekend, 2-10"... but I'll be visiting family in Florida, so you'll have one less person competing for the powder.

Have fun!

Ride hard, take chances.

those who complain about ice at keystone: huh? :

which trails did you ski? did you venture to the north peak or outback? did you try any trails other than the green and blue highways?

keystone has had an incredible early season. you guys really need to ski back east before you declare anything out here "too icy."
