Don't hold your breath. The investor may be ready to go ahead, but the govt won't be building a highway in there or other infrastructure services anytime soon. The BC govt is under a fiscal restraint program currently that is effecting even the most essential services. Everything left over goes to infrastructure development for Whistler Olympics in 2010.
Resort-type skiing is well represented in that corner of the province with Panorama and Kicking Horse, Fernie, and the Lake Louise/Banff area. Not all these spots run anywhere near capacity now, and the farther away from the intl airport in Calgary (next closest is 11hr drive to Vancouver), the less potential.
Don't get me wrong... more skiing is a great thing, but I just can't see it happening in the next while.
