I skied JH Sunday and Monday. Snow condidtions really aren't great for the west, but there is more than enough snow and awesome terrain to a make a PA ski bum happy! (takes one to know one)I skied Rendezvouz bowl, Tensleep bowl, the Cirque, Pepi's and virtually all of the ridges and bowls on the lower mountain, southern end (Hobacks, colter, Lower Sublette). Rendezvous was quite good, and Lower Sublette and the North Hoback were also good--although the entrance to the Hobacks is brutal. Might as well just take off the skis and walk around all the exposed rock.
I actually think the snow conditions at JH are quite "Eastern" right now--hard pack and bumps on runs that get traffic; kind of a crusty crud on those that don't get so much traffic (Hobacks, Colter, Sublette)
I said the snow is 'eastern', but not the terrain. There is nothing like the Tetons in our part of the country.
Even if they get no more snow, you will have great fun; but I think they are expecting snow.
