I too, agree with the Kirkwood assessments. The climate was overall, WET. You'd be wise to bring extra clothing to change during the day, if the weather turns inclement because the snow will melt once it hits your clothing. Though, weather forecasts reflect lots of sun, so better bring sun screen and a mtn bike just in case...
The past Sunday was the best, of the previous weekend. Chair 4 opened late in the day making for great Sierra cement runs in the Fawn/Thunder Saddle. Also, the high traverse in Sentinal Bowl was good, as well. The key is to stay away from the tracked out mounds of play-doh unless you're riding on some bad-ass, crud busting boards.
Kirkwood has the 2nd highest ski elevation in the Lake Tahoe area. So, when it rains in SLake, it's snowing in Kirkwwod.
enjoy the sun and fun and support the Battered Beaver!
