Summitt County Christmas

I am going to Summitt County/Vail Beaver Creek at Christmas/New Years. Any local knowledge as to how bad the crowds are. Also any suggestion as to how to cope with them. I'm staying in Dillon. Thanks Steve

Maui Steve, just seeing "Summit County Christmas" made me smile. We have spent the past two years in Summit for the holidays. Yes its crowded but not terribly so. Actually I though the first weekend after the 1st was busier. Folks trying to avoid the crowds+cheap lodging.

Weekend days I would go to Beaver Creek or Vail as they block out the holidays for most season passes, Beaver Creek is rarely really crowded, take the lift by the bridge and never a wait. Save the weekdays for the Summit Resorts when most Denverites will be home.

Have fun and perhaps our paths will cross. We plan on being in Summit again this Christmas!

thats a good time. they should have just increased staff and opened all the trails and you get night-skiing at keystone. the weekdays should not be too crowded with all trails open.
