Another "Just How Bad" question.....

Thanks for all the responses to the "just how bad is spring break" topic. In comparison to the crowds in March (spring break) how are the crowds over the holiday season. Let's call the holiday season December 15 through New Years weekend. Would you say it is More Crowded, Less Crowded, or maybe a variation such as less college students, more families, or more beginners, less intermediates and pros...Thanks again...

Holiday season is typically way more crowded than spring break. The number of families is much higher, and the number of beginner/intermediate skiers is way up. This can make for a pretty crowded situation on the slopes.

Spring break you are really only getting the hard core college skiers, it really isnt a huge impact on the resort. The students who do opt for skiing tend to be pretty good skiers as well, so they stick to certain areas on the hill. Remember, many many students go south for spring break.

The other time to watch out for is the mid-February school break - this is another popular time for families to be out on the slopes - President's Day weekend is one of the most popular on the hill.

I think You will find that at just about any major destination resort. The largest booking will be for the week after Christmas to Year years and Presidents day weekend. Spring braek is really no big deal since every school system seemss to set diffrent dates.
