I don't get over to the backside of the Wasatch very often, so I'd also check out Solitude and Snowbird, even Alta. No, the shops will not be as nice, they are not resorts like the PC areas, but they do offer nice skiing.
If you like the resort communitys, stick with PC areas. Nothing wrong with skiing a few different places on a trip. Out of all the ski areas in Utah, the one I avoid the most, well except Snowbasin, is the Canyons. The place is big, but tends to bore me, sure the 99-90 lift is great, but short, and I get tired of skiing on the flats to get back to the lifts.
Park City is a great resort. In my thoughts, its the only place in Utah that is a true ski town like Breck, Aspen, and others. There is the town right in the middle of a ski area. Now you can even ski down into town and back out again with th completion of the new town bridge and lift. THe skiing at PC is great as well. I live furthest from the Park City resorts, so don't make it up there very often. May be Rubob or Utah49 can shed some better light on it for you.
Have a great trip, send lots of money in our state!
