Changing baskets on Smith poles...

How is it done? Also, if it is, would I be able to fit a normal basket setup on the poles to make life easier?

If they are just standard poles (i.e. made in Italy, like all the other straight poles in the world!)
Then to get the basket off, either heat the basket by placing it in warm water, or use brute force (takes a bit of practice to do). Most ordinary poles use a similar size of basket and are attached in the same way.

hope this helps,

The baskets are different than any other pole out there. It's sort of similar to what you find on composite poles.

Ok nevermind, I got it. What I ended up doing was making cuts into the baskets with a knife to create weaknesses. I then dipped them in boiling water and ripped them off using pliers.

Yeah, They're done that way 'cause smith has a slide on powder basket. It is a friction fit over the smaller original basket.

Doesn't help taking it off of course, but I haven't broken one yet.
