The weather channle SUCKS! they really don't care about the west, only the east/ south east.
Most of the Wasatch resorts were reporting 6- 12 new inchs on Tuseday, with another 6-12 expected Tueday night.
TR has it right and we are now in the right weather pattren to get more storms in the next few days. They are calling for a front to come in this weekend Sat and Sunday. The skiing has been pretty good the last two days.
As of last night, in the last 24 hrs, Solitude and Brighton got 2 feet, Altabird about 15 in. DV and PC about 10 in. It snowed all day today and the forcast is for snow all week with a major storm Friday and more storms coming almost every day next week. We call them "Alta beach days" (we really don't but it sounds good.)
It's looking much better now than last week at this time. I actually fired up our new snowblower last night for the first time. After work today, there was another inch or two in the driveway (too little for the blower) and as I was starting shoveling on it I heard a rumbling from up in the mountains - there's an avalanche warning for pretty much all over the Wasatch Range since we hadn't had snow for so long. Give it another storm or two and some time to settle and this should make for a great start, Brighton is already claiming a 65 inch base!
