ne11anad, thanks for the feedback. Not deadset on Breck though. We are both intermediate level; I board and she skis. Looking for long groomed runs with great views and friendly people. Not really looking for mega-resort type place and the night-life scene is not high on the list. Hoping to go late Feb/early March. Thanks.
I'd suggest Steamboat if you want to stay in CO. Crested Butte is also a good recommendation. Nice, groomed runs and the people are friendly. Much less crowding also. You can stay in some nice slopeside lodging at both locations.
That time of year might be good in Taos also. Of course, it depends on the weather but right now they have twice as much snow as at the I-70 resorts here in CO. Yes, it's a little tougher a ski area but their ski-weeks are famous (and cheap). Plus, the food is very good. There are some really plush lodging choices that might interest you. You could also take a day or two off and visit the Santa Fe area. The weather should be nice. Oh, wait...you board.
Well, learn how to ski, man!
Well, just my 2 cents.
