I am planning to do a ski trip in Lake Tahoe around the 3rd week of January. Can anyone comment on what the conditions are like based on past years. I'd sure hate to travel all the way from the midwest and find out that I'm early by a month!
For the past five years it's been good to great. Even in the '00-'01 winter, which started slow and was weak, things were fine. You can always hope for Jan of 2000: 7 feet of snow in four days in the second week. If you *really* wanna know, look at the historical snow depths at Squaw
at 8000 feet. Note that this is snow water content
. Multiply by 3 to get the depth.[ October 01, 2002, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: Charlie Crabb ]
