Late May Skiing in Utah

Is this feasible?

I'll be in SLC on Wed and Thu 5/21 and 5/22, and would like to extend that, forward or back, if skiing is available that late in the year. I've been to the Snowbird website, and they expect skiing to continue after 5/12, but don't say for how long, and don't mention weekday skiing. Websites for the other areas seem to indicate they will be closed.

If anyone can give me an idea as to the likelyhood of there being weekday skiing in the area during the week starting 5/18/03, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I think you probably should call Snowbird and ask for someone in Mountain Operations. I've heard an unconfirmed rumor that Snowbird will be closing for the season sometime around May 20. Also, the last couple of years they have only been open on weekends once the middle of May came around.

I think your chances are pretty slim if you're looking for mid-week lift-served skiing that late in May this year, but why not call them and ask?

Hi Bob,

Yep, I gave them a call, and the gal who answered said they are not planning on any weekday skiing after 5/11, and she felt it unlikely that that would change. She also said they plan to have weekend skiing thru Memorial Day, as is their usual plan.
