Poss. 4 days in Utah coming up, is this a good plan?

Ok, the Utah snow reports are killing me and I cannot wait any longer here on the East. I'm thinking of flying out to SLC on 12-17 thru 12-21. (hope to get in 4 days) I like groomed (green/blue) runs and my research and reading tells me Solitude, Brighton or Snowbasin(???) possibly, might fit the bill.
I want to find convenient reasonable lodging (traveling solo)but also want to be able to have a coupla beers/drinks with my dinner in the evenings. Can I find that scenario near those mountains or should I just "commute" every day from a hotel/motel in SLC? Thanks folks....

If you stay at one of the resorts you'll be more likely to find the skier/snowboard crowd. Downtown is fun, but you get a much broader spectrum of people. If you're up for a little drive, or taking a shuttle, head on up to Canyons, Park City or Deer Valley as they really cater to intermediate, as does Solitude and Brighton. Snowbasin is spectacular and you'll find some nice terrain, but the other resorts are much better and offer more.

If you're looking for some deals or want to save some money, check out www.slidingonthecheap.com and go to the Utah page. The Utah ediion will be starting next week on Thursday and they get special deals as well as free tickets to give away. Or go to www.skiutah.com and see what they have. Otherwise hit up Canyon Sports or Ski N See for some discount tickets. Good luck and have fun! Oh, and the snow is to DIE for! Just had thigh deep powder a week ago or so!
