Vail openned Blue Sky Basin for the season on Saturday. We were able to ski nice deep powder all day. Off of Lover's leap there was 2-3 feet of the fluff. The lift at the bottom of Champaign glade wasn't running so hardly anyone skied that side until about 1:00. Up till then you had virgin snow about 12 inches deep all to yourself. It was first tracks for 2-3 runs. All in all a great day. However, for the first time in 2 years there was about a 15-20 minute wait at the lift to Blue sky next to the Tea Cup Express lift. Even Pete's bowl had a 10 minute wait.
