Copper Mountain is closed....

Copper Mountain closed yesterday, Vail last weekend, and the sky is cloudless Rocky Mountain blue today--summer is quickly arriving in Summit County. This is one of the few seasons where I think we're actually closing when we should. Vail was good "to the last drop," but it was time to call it a season. Another day would have been pushing it. Copper actually closed, once again, with new snow on the ground, as it has each of the last three seasons. It wasn't a blizzard like last year and the year before, but 3-4 inches of new snow still makes things look good! (Of course, it has mixed effects on the traditional closing-day Eenie-Weenie Bikini Contest....)

I'll still get a few more days in at Arapahoe Basin and Loveland, just for fun, and to shoot some video for various projects. Loveland is holding up well still--I was there Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for PSIA exams. The snow was good, typical spring conditions.

Mixed emotions, as always, when winter turns to spring..... Now, where'd I put my paddle? My bicycle helmet?

Have a great spring and summer everyone!

Best regards,
Bob Barnes
